Hi, I’m Shauna—a soprano, music educator, social-emotional learning facilitator, and endurance athlete living and creating in Hollywood, California. My work lives at the intersection of music, movement, wellness, and empowerment. I help people to uncover their most authentic voices through holistic teaching, soulful artistry, and joyful discipline.
I grew up in North Carolina, where my journey began with the rich legacy of Black American music. My path deepened with classical voice and opera training at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music & Dance in Philadelphia, and was transformed during the pandemic when I became an endurance athlete and discovered how physical strength, vocal resilience, and emotional well-being are deeply connected.
Since 2007, I’ve also been in love with Latin dance, especially cha-cha-cha & mambo. These rhythms have shaped my artistic spirit and taught me the power of movement as expression, healing, and connection. I bring that same energy and joy into every space I teach and perform in.
I teach voice at Musicians Institute in Hollywood and music education at EF Academy in Pasadena. My approach blends classical technique, social-emotional learning, positive psychology, and anti-racist practices to support & develop authentic artists—not just better singers & vocalists. I believe in creating spaces where emerging artists & creative entrepreneurs feel safe to grow, explore, and shine!
I’m proud to serve on the Board of Directors for Wellbeing in Entertainment & Creative Arts (WECA) and to have co-founded the Black Coalition of Dancers during the pandemic. I’ve also held leadership roles with SCORE Philadelphia and Emerging Arts Leaders - Philadelphia, advocating for equity, entrepreneurship, and sustainability in the arts.
Beyond the studio and stage, I’m the founder of Fierce Stitch, a sustainable and luxurious handcrafted brand inspired by astrology, birthstones, the healing benefits of fiber art, and my paternal grandmother’s love for fiber art. I’m also launching a consulting agency that supports mission-driven brands and connects them with emerging creative talent.
